Project Details

With support from Measure W, the City of Cathedral City is conducting a feasibility study to determine the most viable sites for the construction of a new community center. This process will blend input from residents, stakeholders, and agency partners to develop a center responsive to the community’s needs and identify the optimal location for the center. The study is projected to be completed in February 2026.

Project News/Updates 

  • August 2025: Group 4 Architecture is currently conducting technical meetings with City staff. In the next two months, community and stakeholder outreach will be conducted.
  • September 2025: Throughout this month and next, the City and Group 4 Architecture are meeting with key stakeholders and conducting community outreach for what residents would like to see in a new center. Residents are encouraged to share and complete the survey.
  • October 2025: The first round of community engagement concludes this month. The second round of community engagement will begin at the end of October and last until mid-November. Staff and Group 4 Architecture are conducting deeper research on potential sites, including a financial analysis for each one.
  • November 2025: Group 4 and City staff are meeting with stakeholders for the final time, holding final technical meetings, and finishing the second round of community engagement.
  • January 2026: Group 4 will present to the City Council during Study Session on January 28th where the Council will provide direction on site and financial preferences. The final presentation and recommendations will be presented to City Council during the February 25th meeting.
