Department Summary

The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of public thoroughfares, public streets and alleys. This includes asphalt and concrete repair and maintenance, installation of traffic striping and reflective markers, replacing traffic signs, maintaining storm drains, cleaning and maintaining retention basins, and by constructing concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters and cross gutters.

During emergencies, the Department responds by providing traffic safety barricades and other warnings during flooding or other unusual conditions and corrects any unsafe road conditions that may exist.
