Starting July 1, 2025, the Desert Recreation District (DRD) will maintain Esperanza, Ocotillo, Panorama, Century, and Dennis Keat soccer parks, while also providing:

  • Recreation programming in Cathedral City parks and local facilities
  • Summer operation of the Cathedral City High School pool
  • Park attendants to monitor facilities and address issues
  • Access to DRD events and programs throughout their service area

Measure W, which received approval from 74% of voters in November 2024, funds critical improvements to emergency medical services, neighborhood street paving, and integration with the Desert Recreation District (DRD). Town Square sits directly in front of City Hall and is where the Fountain of Life resides.  Cathedral City provides the Fountain of Life in Town Square, an award winning fountain providing artistic beauty.

Along with the fountain, Town Square's amenities include Benches and seating to watch the fountain; Public art pieces; rose garden and lush landscaping; benches and seating for public gatherings.

Some of the events held in Town Square are the Easter Kidapalooza, and the annual North Pole Village at Snowfest.

Town Square Park may be rented for your event. The whole park must secured and a $510 special use permit must be obtained with approval of the City Council.
