You must be a City Employee with a valid user ID to use the City Email.

Step 1: If you are using AOL please do the following. If you are using another form of internet access skip to step 5.

Step 2: Log on to AOL normally.

Step 3: Minimize AOL by clicking the underscore character in the upper right corner of your screen.

Step 4: Double click the Internet explorer icon on your desktop or go to start - programs - Internet explorer. If this is the first time you have used Internet Explorer the configuration wizard will ask you for information, if not skip to the next step. Choose "I want to set up my Internet connection manually or I connect through a LAN". Click on next. Choose "I connect through a local area network (LAN)". Choose next, "Automatic discovery of proxy server" should be checked. Choose next, when asked to setup a mail account choose no. Click next and then finish.

Step 5: In the address bar in the top type in the address of the city's website, http://www.cathedralcity.gov

Step 6: Click on employee links to the left.

Step 7: You will be prompted for your city login name (same as step 8), your password and your domain. For domain enter either cc-domain (for city hall and fire department employees) or pd-domain (for police department employees) then click on ok.

ATTENTION: If you are presented with login name and password boxes only, you must enter your username like this:

CC-DOMAIN\username or PD-DOMAIN\username

Step 8: Although slightly different than your city Outlook program you will have access to email, your calendar and be able to search for city employees online. Use the service request form for any other questions or concerns.
