Dream Homes Sewer Project Begins December 4th!!!

A public meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 29th at 6:00 p.m. in the Agua Caliente Elementary School Cafeteria to update the neighborhood on the upcoming phases of this much anticipated project. Representatives from the City, Desert Water Agency, and Choctaw will be present to answer any questions. This is a big step forward for the Dream Homes neighborhood!

Cathedral Fest/Tree Lighting Shapes Up

The annual Tree Lighting and Cathedral Fest will be held Saturday, December 9th from 3:30 p.m. until dusk. In addition to Ice Carving the event will be filled with music and dance and high spirits with the Cathedral City Elementary School Choir, Cathedral City High School Choir, Buddy Rogers Youth Symphony Orchestra and Motions Dance Studio. The Cathedral City Fire Department will be handing out candy canes.

Electronic Waste

The Electronic Waste Collection Event will be Saturday, November 18, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Center in Palm Springs (5201 E. Ramon Road) in the parking lot in front of the center. The Event is open to residents and businesses in Cathedral City and Palm Springs.

Bring in old computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, televisions, microwaves, cell phones, telephones, answering machines and fax machines. No other materials for recycling will be accepted.

If you are are a business and planning to bring in more than one load of electronics to the event, please contact the city (Cathedral City or Palm Springs) to schedule a personal pick up.

Dedication of Buddy Rogers Sculpture

Be sure to come an see the unveiling and dedication of the new Buddy Rogers sculpture at Town Square this Sunday November 19th at the corner of Buddy Rogers Ave and Pickfair at 2pm. The public is invited.

Mr. Rogers was a star of stage and screen, a big band leader, and philanthropist. Buddy Rogers was under contract with Paramount Studios over 70 years, and was married to Mary Pickford until her death in 1979.

He was a long-time supporter of Cathedral City with his second wife, Beverly, until his death in 1999. Mr. and Mrs. Rogers were instrumental in naming the Mary Pickford Theatre.

The sculpture was designed in 1997 by the late actor and friend George Montgomery. Beverly Rogers commissioned the George Montgomery Foundation to create the 9ft. 6 in. bronze piece for the Town Square. Mrs. Rogers has gifted the sculpture to the City of Cathedral City at a value of $150,000, and, underwritten the installation costs.
