Pop Culture Trivia

October 3rd is a big day in TV history. On this day in 1954 Father Knows Best premiered, as did Captain Kangaroo in 1955, the Mickey Mouse Club in 1955, the Dick Van Dyke Show in 1961 and Mr. Ed in 1961.

On a related theme, the first video image were recorded on magnetic tape on October 3, 1952.

This day in 2003 was the day Roy Horn of the duo “Siegfried and Roy” was bitten and severely injured by a tiger. Oddly enough, October 3rd is also Roy Horn’s natal day. Talk about taking a bite out of your birthday! He claims to be 62.
