FY 2017-2021 Consolidated Plan - Draft
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
The City of Cathedral City announces the availability of the 2017-2021 Draft Consolidated Plan. Every five years, the City is required to prepare and submit a comprehensive consolidated plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) describing the scope of its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
The Consolidated Plan is a comprehensive strategic plan developed to assist the City in assessing its affordable housing and community development needs and market conditions, and to make data-driven, place-based investment decisions. The consolidated planning process serves as the framework for a community-wide dialogue to identify housing and community development priorities that align and focus funding from the HUD Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program
The Consolidated Plan is carried out through Annual Action Plans. The Annual Action Plan (AAP) outlines a summary of the actions, activities, and programs that will take place during the each fiscal year to address the priority needs and specific objectives identified in the Five-Year Consolidated Plan. The AAP identifies the relationship between federal resources and the specific objectives created to address priority needs identified the strategic plan.
The Con Plan and Action Plan will be available to view and public comment for 30 days beginning March 27, 2017 to April 28, 2017. A public hearing will be held on May 10, 2017 at the regularly scheduled City Council meeting located at 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, Cathedral City, CA 92234.
All public comments must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM on April 28, 2017.
