Greg Pettis

Greg was born and raised in Duarte, California and has lived in Cathedral City since 1979. After nearly 15 years in the hospitality industry, Greg ran for and won a seat on the City Council in 1994.

Since he was sworn in, Greg has helped build an economically vibrant community with strong neighborhoods with a long list of legislative accomplishments including:

Instituting the Safe Routes to School program

Working with police and social service agencies to combat the methamphetamine epidemic

Completing Cathedral City's library

Bringing Big League Dreams to town

Revitalizing Cathedral City's downtown core

In addition to his duties as a Councilmember, Greg has served as the executive director of the Palm Springs Youth Center, President of Cathedral City’s Rotary Club and Desert Business Association and board member of United Cerebral Palsy of the Desert and the Coachella Valley Mountains Conservancy.

Greg received a BA from Azusa Pacific University in 1977. He lives in the Cove neighborhood and recently welcomed his parents back to our city to enjoy their retirement.
