Pat Hammers
Pat
Hammers was born, in St. Louis and lived in the area her entire life until she
moved to the Coachella Valley in May of 1996. Prior to coming to the Desert
she was employed at the McDonnell Douglas Corporation in St. Louis for 31 years.
In 1995 she took an early retirement. She and her sister have lived together
since her return to St. Louis from the Pacific North West in 1980. After they
arrived in the Valley, they bought property and built a home in the Panorama
Neighborhood.
She attended St. Louis public schools, and
St. Louis Community Colleges, with a few courses at Washington University. She
is an artist, a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians
and the Cathedral City Chamber of Commerce. Until elected to the position of
City Clerk, she was Chair of the Cathedral City Public Arts Commission. She
also belongs to the Artist Council at the Palm Springs Desert Museum and the
Coachella Valley Archeological Society where she serves as treasurer.
